Short-term economic dispatching of series-hydroplant system playsanimportant role for the optimal operation of power grid. The correct and properarrangement of its operation is yital to the security, stability and economicoperation of the whole power system.Based on detailed analysis of WASI_Rivercascaded hydroplant, a short-term economic dispatching mathematical model thatcan reflect the real operation of the system is built. Dynamic ProgrammingMethod (DP) is effective to solve the multi-stage decision-making problem, istherefore chosen as the optimizing tool. By studying factors affecting short-termoptimal dispatching of cascaded hydropower plants, such as water amount, waterhead, water delay, water smoothing effect, and instable flow phenomenon ofdownriver, and analysis of the simulation results, the optimal operation ofcascaded hydropower plants is summarized, to help implement the optimaloperation of the whole system and provide guidance for the real-time operation,increasing the profits of the power plants.In this thesis, The optimization model takes the maximum and minimumdecision-making flow and the cascaded flow-through delay time as theconstraints. The scroll decision-making method combining the flow forecast andeconomic dispatching is used to generate the decision.Based on the theoretical analysis, the author developed a program that canwell describes the cascaded reservoir short-term optimal dispatch system model.The program is developed under windows system, by using Object-OrientedProgramming(OOP) and B/S model. It has friendly graph user interface andpowerful graph creating capability. The packaging of the operating data provides amore secure mechanism and make the maintenance future extension much easier.The developed program can perform variant calculation with different initialreservoir water level, water inflow, and different water flow delay. The results canbe used to provide guidance for practical operation.
