The road sweeper is one of the important cleaning equipment, which is mainly used to remove rubbish in high grade roads, city roads and squares. The working devices are all driven by hydraulic cylinders or hydraulic motors. The digital control of the hydraulic system using single chip microcomputer is the main direction of the control of the road sweepers.This paper analyses the cleaning tasks of the road sweeper which has special chassis and hydraulic control, then the joint control scheme of linkage and single-acting is drawn up. This article designs the software and hardware for the control system based on the core of AT89C52, and achieves the purpose of the control of the cleaning tasks.Then, the performance of broom is researched by experiment and in theory. The relationship between sweeping speed, broom rotate speed and cleaning efficiency, working efficiency has been qualitatively studied, then the adjust method of broom rotate speed using the digital restrictor with fuzzy control arithmetic is discussed and the hardware circuit of the single chip microcomputer is designed. The fuzzy lookup tables are made by the MATLAB. The signals of sweeping speed and broom rotate speed are got by hall sensors. The table's lookup and the output of the control signal are realized in the system of the single chip microcomputer. Thereby the broom rotate speed could be automatically adjusted according to sweeping speed with no drop of sweeping efficiency and working efficiency. The software uses time-triggered patterns written with single chip microcomputer C language.
