Automatic transmission is one of the most complex units assembled on vehicles. It is a common part to all kinds of intermediate and luxury cars. There is a large potential service market to automatic transmission, therefore, designing an bench on which the performances of an automatic transmission are tested for vehicle service enterprises will improve service quality to automatic transmission and prompt the development of the way.This article mainly deals with the research to testing options and testing methods of an overhauled automatic transmission. An automatic transmission testing bench which can apply for vehicle service enterprises is designed with the researching complements of testing options and methods discussed in this article. This article consists of several components below:1, The research to testing options and methods of an overhauledautomatic transmission(1) A mathematical formula can be formed according to the slipping difference measured through detection whether the lock-up clutch of an overhauled automatic transmission can lock up and whether gears can be shifted.(2) Another mathematical formula can also be formed through detection whether the lock-up clutch of an overhauled automatic transmission will skid, and if there exists skidding to the built-in clutches and brakes of the planetary gear transmission system when load the overhauled automatic transmission and swirl it.(3) Detect the system oil pressure, controlling oil pressure, cooling flow or discharge etc, all these above parameters will contribute to diagnose the malfunctions of an automatic transmission.2, The research to designing device of an automatic transmissiontesting benchThe power of this testing bench is provided by the engine. The automatictransmission to be tested can be attached and positioned to the bench with a rapid assembling mechanism. Use an electric turbulence work tester to simulate real road resistance and to load the automatic transmission. The use of the brakes is to lock the output axle in order to simulate the speed-missing working condition. The power can be transformed from the automatic transmission to the electric turbulence work tester through a universal joint mechanism, simultaneously, the parameters, such as system oil pressure, flow, oil temperature etc. should be tested in order to provide data base for detecting automatic transmission malfunctions.V3, The research to signal collection and treatment of these signalparametersA micro-computer is used to collect signal parameters, such as: speed of engine crankshaft, speed of the direct clutch of gear OD and speed of output shaft of an automatic transmission, the throttle position, transmission oil pressure, cooling flow, oil temperature etc. These signals can be output to the screen and displayed through an A/D change.4, The research to control of an electric turbulence work testerThe method to control an electric turbulence work tester is the self-adaptive theory. Owes to the self-adaptive control of the electric turbulence work tester, the system can adjust to all kinds of varies and fluctuates and enjoy a better static performance. Without knowing the system model, all system indications apply for the need of different electric turbulence work tester can be designed explicitly and easy to watch and understand. Thus, the designing procedure could be simplified and the exploring cycle, of course, can be shortened. During the control of self-adaptive, a method of analysis the equation tolerance is used. Even though its retracting speed is slower than that of the least squares method, the result will be figured out more quickly. This can result in a reduce in the system resources to be used.5, The experiment on the torque transformed form the hydraulictorque converterThe torque transformed form the hydraulic torque converter van be tested through experiment. The maximum torque transformed when shift to gear 1 is 1267 N *m, gear 2 is 467 N ? m, gear 3 is 357 N ? m, gear 4 is 210 N ? m. The data above can provide parameters to automatic transmission skidding experiment.6, The layout and found of testing model in gear-shifting experimenton benchWe can found a mathematical mode|, which will provide a base to the intelligence treatment of a micro-computer, through testing a new given transmission testing bench. According to the experiment data, we can sue the least squares methods to do a linear return, in order to erect the mathematical models on each gear.7, The research to the method of detecting skidding of an automatictransmissionWhether the tension of a hydraulic torque convert will skid and if the output shaft will skid when shift to gear 1 and 2 can be detected in a speed-missing experiment. Whether the lock-up clutch, gear 3 and 4 will skid can be detected through using an electric turbulence work tester, which works under a cower power, will be selected. When detection skidding in a speed-missing experiment. Thus the facility cost is out down.8, SummaryAn overhauled automatic transmission should be tested in gear-shifting and skidding experiments. The service quality of an overhauled automatic transmission is checked up. Testing parameters such as speed, transmission oil temperature and flow, etc, will configure. The data is provided to diagnosing failures of an automatic transmission.
