The comprehensive mechanics test bench based on wireless testing technologies is developed for the need of mechanics tests in higher education and of improving education quality. The system is composed of two parts, torsion mechanics test bench, which integrates beam bending and twisting facilities, and wireless communication technologies based wireless testing system, which includes data collecting part that collects strain signals and computer-based data processing softpanel. This paper elaborates the research project on below aspects:Firstly, introduction of research background, current situation and targets, and a brief review of wireless data transmission technology. Meanwhile, the designing for the overall structure of the testing system is researched, and introduction of relevant theories including the test system design, intelligent instrument design and mode design and sampling strategies are made.Secondly, detailed introduction of the sending and receiving modules in the wireless testing system. Moreover, designing and testing are also conducted on bridge balance, ampli-filtering, singlechip-controlled A/D data conversion at the sending module, and on data storing and computer data communication at the receiving module.Thirdly, wireless data transmission and wireless sending and receiving chip nRF2401, the core of wireless data transmission, are particularly introduced. The function of nRF2401 is given and software design and main subroutine flow charts for the sending and receiving modules are elaborated and analyzed. Finally, detailed analysis is made on testing data, in addition to the theoretical analysis on torsion test bench components. The paper puts forward the system errors resulted from bridge balance, circuitry, 1/4 bridge arm, and analyzes the errors at each part. Advantages and disadvantages of the entire system are given for the reference of testing instrument development in the future.
