Pre-stressed steel structure is a new kind of structure, which is put into use more and more popularly. The theory and research about this new kind of structure has been done at some extend. Mast suspended pre-stressed steel structure takes full advantage of flexible cable and rigid truss, which employ flexible cable to provide internal support. With pre-stressed cable, the rigidity of structure system is improved highly. In a word, this is a suitable and economic kind of structure.This paper, researched into the steel roof structure of the Conference Center in Zhengzhou International Conference and Exhibition Center, analyses geometrical composition and structural configuration, discusses the concept design of this new kind of structure from the direction of the subdivided system. Based on ANSYS finite element method program, the structural property and deform character under different load conditions and adverse combination of those are discussed. The security of construction is also researched in this paper.On the basis of modal analysis in ANSYS finite element method program, sub-space iteration method is employed to calculate the dynamic characteristics of this structure. Three analysis models in different pre-stressed state are established to compare the similarities and difference, therefore, comprehensive analysis of the different types can be acquired.This paper, furthermore, probed into the stability of extremely important member, central mast, which is a new kind style of pre-stressed compressive rod. This kind of compressive rod use pre-stressed cable and brace member to reduce the calculative length, and overcome the limit of slenderness ratio. Therefore, the utility of material can be used fully. Structural calculation and holistic stability of this new kind impressive rod are studied in this paper. At last, energy method is used to calculate the critical load of central mast, and the estimation of stability is available.
