Modern Regional Building Materials Design Performance

The modern regional architecture is regarded as a kind of strategy during solving the contradiction between regionalism of architecture and globalization. It plays a bridge role in communicating between the two. On one hand the modern regional building critically excites the vigor of regional architecture; on the other hand it also revise enrich intension of modern architecture, makes this contradiction have getting adjustability and acceptability. The thesis studies modern regional architecture in terms of material design expression, probe into characteristics and methods that the material design expression of the modern regional architecture displays.Main content of the thesis:In chapter one the thesis analyzes the backgrounds of the times, and thinks with the relation between regionalism and globalization.Chapter two of the thesis puts forward and defines the concept of the modern regional architecture and the design expression of the material; Point out that the material of the modern regional architecture should not be only limited to the traditional regional material, still include the application in practice of the architecture of new material emerging in era. And the thesis analyzes factors that influences material design expression of the modern regional architecture.In chapter three thesis summarizes out such characteristics as multi-level intergrowth between traditional architecture and modern one, multidimensional exploring in the material design expression and sustainable design etc, through thought deeply in the material design expression of the modern regional architecture.At last, combining instances, the thesis probes into concrete methods of the material design expression of the modern regional architecture, from two respects of the modern behavior of regional material design expression and regional behavior of the modern material design expression.
