In the product design and the manufacture process of the manufacturing industry, the bill of material of the product is a construction for describing assemble, among the m including all assembles, accessories, original materials., The BOM plays a role of the core data in the design of the product and the manufacture process, it is the information bridge to link the product design and the manufacture process.The dissertation focuses on the BOM multi-view mapping and Single Source of Product Data (SSPD) constructing. As a result of these, the goal of integrating the product design and the manufacture process is achieved. Scientific research is made as follows:1) The related research of BOM is concluded. The basic concept and essence of BOM is elucidated and the evolvement of the Engineering BOM, Process Planning BOM and Manufacturing BOM is discussed.2) By constructing the BOM structure model, mathematic expression and arithmetic of the four types of Items in the multi-view mapping course is deducted. Then, the method of creating Manufacturing BOM is given.3) A new idea of construct SSPD based on BOM evolvement is given. In this new idea, the data related with item is treated as property of item in the Single Source of Product Item (SSPI);The BOM structure of the whole life-cycle forms kinds of Source of Item Relation (SIR). SSRI and different SIR make the SSPD.4) According to BOM multi-view mapping and SSPD, an integration model and application framework of the product design and the manufacture process is given.5) BOM management system is designed and developed based on the above methods.
