The key technology of BOM management in product lifecycle isstudied in this thesis in order to realize BOM data and product information sharing throughoutthe product lifecycle.Firstly, relevant theories and ideas of the BOM management are studied. Basic conceptsand function system of the BOM management for the product life cycle are proposed.Secondly, three key technical issues of BOM management for the product lifecycle arediscussed in detail.(1) A BOM data model based object-oriented idea is proposed in this thesis. And amethod of congregation for discrete objects is studied to represent the model, in order tosupport the product configuration and BOM multi-view transformation.(2) A product configuration model based generic bill of material(GBOM) is proposed inorder to integrate the product configuration technology in the corporate sales and design field.The related constraint and product configuration rules of the model are studied in this thesis.And a detail method is presented to show that how to realize the product configuration basedGBOM.(3) Based on the analysis of the relationship between the various BOM views, a BOMmulti-view transformation method based on configurable rules is presented.
