The application of embedded system technology is an important economic increasing point during nowadays. It gives the great opportunities and challenges to the electronic information industry. With the development of information technology and digital technology, embedded systems are used more and more widely such as industrial control, intellectual instruments and so on. Embedded systems are also becoming the trend when designing electronic products. So doing research on embedded systems is very important and useful both in theory and practicality.Embedded system is designed for practical application, bases on computer technology and tight combination of hardware and software. It's a special computer system for lower cost, higher performance, lower power, smaller volume etc. As 32-bit ARM RISC microprocessor is more and more popular because of its low price, high performance and easy expanding, it becomes the core of embedded system.According to the developing trend of harmonic measurement, basing on S3C44B0X, this paper proposes a method with real-time operating system for harmonic measurement. Because with an OS, the software design can be more reliable and easier, also the OS can manage the tasks and services, so it's far more excellent than single flow program. This paper does research on embedded system including hardware and software. And successfully port the OS - nC/OS-II to the microprocessor - S3C44B0X. The porting progress needs deep knowledge about embedded system. And the successful port of the OS, gives a platform for software design of harmonic measurement, makes fully use of the processor's resource, eases the software design and makes it more efficient. So this paper is not only a deep research on embedded system, but also valuable in the application field of the embedded system.
