| With the development of science and improvement of people’s living conditions, people now are pursuing for intelligent home appliances. The traditional domestic meters such as energy meter, water meter and gas meter cost a lot of manual work to read and can not adapt to the rhythm of modern life. The concept of Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systems are introduced under such circumstance and developed quickly during these years.This paper introduced some common AMR systems, analyzes their respective characteristics .And this project take the water meter as the studying case, developed an integrated remote meter reading system. The research includes three parts: portable meter reading system design based on ARM7(S3C44B0X), RS-485 network frame and isolation, terminal data collection unit.The hardware design of portable meter reading system is introduced in detail, and the software realization is also presented such as the transplant ofμC/OS-II operating system on S3C44B0X, the driver for the functional block. As about the RS-485 meter reading network, aiming to solve the common problems like signal attenuation and reflection, developed the repeaters to enhance the signal which is also capable of system isolation. The data collection unit is based on Ultra-Low-Power singlechip MSP430, by integrating hardware and software, minimize the energy consumption , which makes sure the system could work by a single battery for many years. |
