The intelligent in-vehicle navigation system is a crucial component of the intelligent transportation system, whose main function is to plan the best route and supply the drivers with their position, velocity, moving direction and the surrounding geographic circumstance information for their fast, safe and accurate arrival during the course of running by the aid of electronic map.At first, the relational technologies about the intelligent in-vehicle navigation system is introduced, which includes something about GPS, GIS and the integration of them. And the technology of the object-oriented used in the process of programming is also simply introduced. Secondly, the dissertation does an in-depth and particular study on the intelligent in-vehicle navigation system. It builds the basic architecture of intelligent in-vehicle navigation system and divides the total system into ten functional subsystems according to its function: digital map data subsystem, route planning subsystem, route guidance subsystem, etc. A software has been programmed to implement the main function of this system in the environment of VC++6.0 by the aid of the MapX control.The dissertation lays stress on the discussion of the implementing of the route planning and the route guidance of the navigation system. The author brings forward an algorithm of the establishment of the topological structure of the road net and implements the best route planning utilizing the heuristic search algorithm. The author designs the expression of the one-way street in the system and implements the best route planning considering the limit of the one-way street. The author designs the method of the transmitting and incepting of the dynamic traffic information and implements the best route planning considering the dynamic traffic information. The algorithm to produce the instruction of the route guidance is designed and it can offer the driver with intelligent navigation information.The dissertation discusses the design of the serial port communication class (CSerialPortGPS) which can implement the data picking and the data separating. And it discusses the design of the Navigable Geo-Spatial Database satisfying the requirement of the in-vehicle navigation system. At last, it discusses the study of automatic updating of road net based on the data of GPS and the method to implement the intelligent speech cue in the navigation system.
