Frozen Soil Areas Cold Patch Asphalt Pavement Road Performance

In average, the damage was patched with hot-mix mixture in warm weather. When the temperature is low, patching work is difficult to realize. Then, in spring and winter if we do not patch the damage timely, the serious damage will come to being, such as road mudding. In order to timely patch the damage which occurs in cold region, this paper studied pavement performance of the Cold Patch Asphalt Mixture.This paper, based on the technological character of Cold Patch Asphalt Mixture, quoted the example of Cold Patch Asphalt Mixture by Ke Ning and Tang Tai to analyze its composition structure and mechanism of strength, and presented the methods of pavement performance tests. By interior experiments, it studied pavement performance of Cold Patch Asphalt Mixture, and analyzed major affecting factors of its adhesiveness,strength, high temperature stability, water stability, low temperature workability, then proposed evaluation methods and evaluation guideline and standard on its pavement performance.It also analyzed production, examining methods, storage and construction technology. And contrasted the economic and social results of Cold Patch Asphalt Mixture with hot-mix mixture in initial cost and later stage cost.
