In the field of Automotive Industry, more and more Electronic Control Units (ECUs) appear in modern vehicles, enforcing manufacturers to adopt component-based automotive electronic development platform with standard interface. My graduate thesis concentrates on the field of Automotive Industry, analyzes current automotive network protocols, and dicusses how to coordinate and connect numerous ECUs to make them communicate conveniently. The chief work can be generalized as follows:Firstly, We resolve the hierarchy and arctecture of J1939 protocol. It can be divided into 3 layers: physical layer based on CANBUS, Data Link Layer, Network Management Layer, and Vehicle Application Layer, with 3 aproachs of message sending: direct, connection-oriented sending and broadcasting; then, we compare J1939 with several prevalent automotive protocols on efficiency and applicability; finally, we realize J1939 protocol and put it on OSEK/VDX Operating System.Secondly, We also develop a series of accessorial tools for J1939 network, including: Configuring and code auto-generating tool, which facilitates customizing parameters of ECUs and generates corresponding code automatically; MakeFile auto-generating tool, which avoids the troublesome manual work; Editing, compling and debugging tool, which decreases time of compling and bug fixing; Modeling tool, which encapsulates ECUs, OS, communication buses as graphical components; And simulation tool, which simulates the online status of J1939 network.J1939 automotive communication platform, which supports Model Based Design (MBD) method, makes breakthroughs in the following aspects: Sytematically anlyze and implement J1939 protocal first of all in China. Develop a series of accessorial tools to help quickly establish J1939 network. Put J1939 automotive communication platform on OSEK Operating System. This thsis received funds from: Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863 Program) "2003AA1Z2140" and "2004AA1Z2180".
