As the project machines developing to the intelligence, there are more requirements for the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, especially which is based on INTERNET. In our country, the research on this technology is just a beginning. However, the number of large manufacturing company is looking forward to using such new technology to improve its after-service, which can enhance their international production competition, and make the company better known and credit standing. Using the advanced Browser/Server model, this project is combined with the LTU90A Pitch Paver, which is produced by SANYI Heavy Industry Stock Company, and builds up a remote fault diagnosis system based on INTERNET. This paper mainly researches on the remote on-line monitoring system.Firstly, paper analyses the possibility for using CAN bus to transfer the data among paver, and uses EPEC controllers that integrate the CAN bus Communication Module to collect the data which cycle in the paver's hydraulic pressure system. Then transfer these data to Personal Computer through the RS-232 interface and PCI bus. Finally, it builds the remote on-line monitoring system with Multi-tier Distributed Application Services. Meanwhile, in order to meet the different requirements of users, I design local on-line monitoring system, which could help users to catch their different goals.Considering the reliability and the safety of the data transfer from hardware design to software design, this remote on-line monitoring system has been made certain of holding the characteristic of high real-time and good transplantable, which could provide the reliable resource data for the remote fault diagnosis.
