A common objective which all device fabrications and construction companies search for is to make sure engineering machineries to be steady, security and durative when they are working. Due to the huge economic losses caused by the disaster dump of the equipments for device fabrications and construction companies, status monitoring of the equipments appears to be especially important as the precondition of fault predicting, fault analysis and diagnosis. Nowadays, thus machinery is developing towards large scaled and complicated, there greatly requests to produce and develop the advanced status monitoring proposal and technology of the equipments.This thesis introduces the current applied situation and foreground of CAN bussing technique used in engineering machineries, especially in paver. Because paver which contains numerous subsystems is more complex and costs more research funds, more than that, working circumstances where the machine used is serious, realizing real-time monitoring has important significance for finding breakdown, preventing breakdown or curtailing halting time.There are numerous sensors in paver to transport information of subsystems to master control. Controller display parts of status information by display instrument in cab, thus it can alarm malfunction in emergency. Because it can not react the status information and predict faults in the round, it is necessary to show all status information transported from master control to powerful virtual instrument by CAN. The CAN-USB transition card can realize transition from the CANBUS frame into PC. Then all kinds of status information can be displayed by LABVIEW. Change and transmission of data is one of emphases researched in the thesis.The communication and connection between PC and external devices need driver, likewise, the communication between USB and external hardware requires driver. The driver is closely related to USB chip. In the dissertation,USB chip, CH372, produced by Qinheng Electronics Company, is used. The company provides us driver to connect PC and USB chip, and dynamic link library function to call for other software. Therefore, we use CH372 to complete the design task.LABVIEW provides a calling node of dynamic link library, which can call interface to complete the task of data transmission. By use of graphical from LABVIEW, all kind of data display by rich instrument or digital controls.
