It is an important component of city traffic control that signalized intersection management and control. Signalized intersection has been become the bottle-neck of city traffic. So it is significant to research traffic character at signalized intersection.This paper introduces common background knowledge of intersection, mainly describes traffic control principle. Based on the theory of traffic control at signalized intersection, one of intersections of Beijing city is anatomized, whose capacity and service level under current traffic control scheme are worked out. We find that the traffic control scheme of the intersection is outdated and give a new scheme based on field observations. The rule that traffic control scheme of signalized intersection needs renewing timely is put forward, and its reason is analyzed further. The design of signalized intersection microscopic simulation software is in order to optimize signal timing. The paper introduces its whole idea, framework and flow chart, summarizes some achievements and problems during programming and brings forward suggestion for future work.Intersection in a city is the joint of road network, which plays an important role in road capacity and service. It is very important and valuable that we should try our best to manage city intersection traffic control and dig deeply current traffic resource so as to improve intersection capacity and decrease delay and queue length. A little workincluded in the paper on the study field is for promoting designing and controlling civil intersections intelligently and integralively.
