Fadden with gas for vehicle, gas fired heater was an independent heating equipment, which could provide heating, windshield defogging, engine preheating capability in gas-fired vehicles. Using the CNG or LPG for vehicle as the fuel of the heater not only could cooperated with the fuel of NGV or LPGV ,but also ccould reduce the environment pollution compared with the oil fired heater. So it could meet the needs of the development of the NGV or LPGV. Some companies had begun to develop their own gas fired heater for vehicle, especially the product which was developed by Chang'an University and Bei Jing Jingwei vehicle equipment CO.LTD. had been put into production.Because gas fired heater was a security product, its quality affected the passengers' comfort,lives and possessions directly. And its working performance determined the heating effects and the environment in the vehicle. In order to specify and supervise the manufacture and product quality, Chang'an University and Bei Jing Jingwei vehicle equipment CO.LTD. had laid down the vehicle industry standard of Gas Fired Heater for vehicle, which was authorized by vehicle standardization committee and development and reformation committee. This standard specified terms and definition, technical characteristics, tests, regulations of determination, marking, packaging of the product. It was an indispensable standard during the course of the designing ,manufacturing, testing and quality inspection in the gas fired heater industry.This paper analyzed the development of the gas fired heater for vehicle, researched the scope, contents, and the main technical requirements in the similar international standards, analyzed the the gas combustion performance and the designing procedure of the burner by means of the gas combustion theoretics, dissertated the laying down gist, the main technical requirements and their test methods of this standard. At last the test report proved the applicability and rationality of the technical requirements and their tests in the standard.
