Nowadays the request of the energy and environmental protection makes the diesel engine adoption turbo to become a big trend more and more.The air flow in turbine volute have great influence to the function of turbine.Scroll of reasonable design has low loss and uniform airflow in nozzle outlet,has no phenomenon of reflux,eddy,abrupt inflation etc,and airflow from which has small impact.These advantages not only increase the efficiency of the supercharger but help to enlarge the life of the impeller.Therefore,the overall and meticulous research flows in the flow field of volute is very necessary.In this thesis,AVL FIRE software is used to simulate and calculate the 3-D unconstant flow field of the turbine scroll.In order to study the flowing circumstance which entrance conditions such as massflow,temperature and pressure changes with the crankangle.The verification of using FIRE software to simulate the flow field of volute needs to be validated by the experiment.Wind is provided by a fan driven by an electric engine. The temperature distribution is measured by PM595 thermal imaging system.The pressure distribution is measured by the U-tube.The 3-D model of flow field inside the volute is constructed by CAD software UG.Then export the model to FIRE and carry on the simulation setting the constant entrance conditions. Comparing the experiment result with the calculation one,we find that trend of temperature and pressure gotten by two kinds of methods fits essentially.That proves that FIRE software can be used to simulate the flow field inside the scroll.And then,through thermodynamic process simulation of 4190ZLC diesel engine using AVL BOOST software we can gain massflow,temperature and pressure in entrance of volute which changes with crankangle.These parameters are boundary conditions of 3-D inconstant flow field calculation inside the scroll.Through the work of this thesis,we can conclude:it is feasible to use FIRE software to carry on the simulation of volute flow field; the result indicate that...
