Functional Replacement - On The Industrial Transformation Of The Architectural Heritage Reuse

This paper comes to analyze the function and superiority of the way of functionreplacement in industrial building legacy's transformation and utilization from the analysison domestic and international relevant cases, propose the following views: 1, functionreplacement is the best way to transform industrial building legacy and utilize it again; 2, it isfor obtaining both economic and social benefit, these two are unified not opposite; 3,newfunctions should be diversified and meet masses demand instead of serving a few elites; 4,functional demand should proceed from basic condition and real state, findadaptability. Finally, This paper paid close attention to industrial building legacy around--Datang power plant in Xiaguan, Nanjing, and proposes imagining tentatively of histransformation.
