| As a witness to the development and prosperity of the city,the old industrial building retains the indelible history memories of particular time and has unique cultural and historical value.The attitude we treat old industrial buildings has become a new way to measure urban civilization.The flexibility of the plant’s own space plays a major role in spatial reuse after the loss of its production.Injecting new elements in the reconstruction,architects vitalize the factories with different strategies and techniques of design,which makes the originally abandoned buildings into the new ones embodying both modernity and historicity.From the perspective of function replacement,the major problem of reconstruction is how to meet the maximal requirements through the integration of the old and new functional space on the basis of original structure.In our country,with the rise of renovation projects such as Beijing 789,Shanghai No.8 Bridge,the reconstruction of old industrial buildings has become a new hotspot.Compared to mature foreign model,China still falls behind in theory and related practice.Through combining empirical research with case analysis of function replacement and focusing on Chinese reality,the paper aims at discussing the updated design strategies and methods of reconstruction based on former domestic and foreign studies.In the essay,Chapter One is the preface,introducing the research background,significance of the study and illustrating the related concepts,theories.It also shows the development of research objects at home and abroad.With on-the-spot investigation to select corresponding cases from Shenzhen,Chapter Two further combs the present situation of reconstructing old industrial buildings in Shenzhen on scale,location,characteristics,solutions and limitations.Through elaborating objects,elements,types and details of function replacement,Chapter Three builds a fundamental strategic system of old industrial building reconstruction and makes the system more complete with deep analysis of different cases.Based on the former chapter,Chapter Four expounds the similarities and differences among the various techniques of function replacement,analyzes the types and methods to design function replacement and elucidates the point cut and specific methods from the design levels of building group and individual building in the process of reconstruction.In Chapter Five,the author integrates theory with practice,managing to apply the strategies and techniques of function replacement into the simulation design. |
