Governor is an important part of gasoline engine, and it plays an important role of the stability in gasoline engine's working. The changes of the control parameter can be computed when use mechanical speed governor in gasoline engine. Because the relation of the control parameter and the regulation parameter is very complex, the mathematics relation of the control parameter and the regulation parameter can not be found easily. The small-scale gasoline has a high speed and its speed changes rapidly. The instability of its speed is higher than diesel engine. The electronic governor responds quickly when speed changed, so a fixed speed of gasoline engine can not be got after the speed adjusted by electronic governor. It is more difficult to find the relation between the control parameter and the regulation parameter. In fact, the way to find a regulation point is to do a lot of experiments.An aided design platform is designed to simplified the whole process from data transformation, data computation to figure-showing in traditional way. It can make the designer to attach importance to the design of the electronic governor. And it can help the designer find the regulation point properly. The platform includes hardware and computer software. The hardware collects the data, computes the data and transforms the data to computer software. The computer software receives the data form the hardware, analyzes the data and shows the result in graphics.To explain how to design the hardware, a single-chip microcomputer is to be used to design the hardware in the platform. To get the same value, the same ports as the governor's are used when the hardware collects data. The data of rotate speed is the time between two collect points. The way to get the rotate speed is to check the list in extended data storage memory. The rotate speed and the regulation parameter are transformed to computer software by using serial-port. The baud rate of serial-port is set to be 19200bps.The software in the platform is designed by VB. The MSComm OCX is used in serial-port communication model. The file "setting.ini" is used to save the setting of serial-port, and the WinAPI functions are used to read and write the INI file. The access database is used to save data in software design. The information about experiment is saved in Experiment table, and the data transformed from the hardware is saved in Ex_Data table. The data source class named clsADOSource is developed to use the database better.
