Design and manufacture of aircraft tooling are key part in aircraft manufacture process. Aircraft tooling supports the whole manufacture and assemblage course of aircraft components. Aircraft tooling plays an important status in manufacture, and design and manufacture of aircraft tooling is always manufacture bottle-neck, so research on aircraft tooling's fast design has important meaning.Modular design technique is in common use for product's fast design, and is considered the one of best important technique for predigesting product design, reducing cost and shortening manufacture's cycle. Based on aviation fund subject of investigation on aircraft jigs' design system of modularization and modularization technique, this paper investigates aircraft toolings' product family pick-up technique and module pick-up technique, and realizes fast design of aircraft tooling based on module cases reasoning and product familys reasoning.Main work of this paper is: This paper investigates aircraft tooling's modular design process and key technique. It brings forward the means of product family's pick-up based on comparability of workpieces' figure and sameness of machining technics' characteristic. Module partition means and arithmetic combined with function analyse and configuration analyse in arbitrariness product family based on aircraft tooling characteristic are presented. The principle and means of product family number, module number and module cases number are presented. The means of module cases' pick-up is introduced. This paper investigates the modular design layout based on arbitrariness product family. Then modular design's full course and approach in arbitrariness type of aircraft tooling is researched. This paper discusses the design case's information's connotation and the design case's information content. The means for design case's information be described is bringed forward. The content of modular design resource warehouse is investigated. In the end, the aircraft tooling's modular design system is constructed which comprises system design idea and principia, system flow, function model, configuration, exploiture tools, and so on. This paper picks up product family in aircraft jigs, and then carry out modular partition, modular cases pick-up, number and design information's pick-up. The part work of modular design resource warehouse's construction is accomplished .
