Power Meter Reading System Dlms / Cosem Communication Protocols

With the development of the national economy, the residents' need of electricity is inevitably increasing which demands the traditional meter reading which is lowly efficient to be replaced. For this, some centralized meter reading systems have been produced. But many problems still unresolved due to the disaccord of the electrical communication protocols which relevant to the types of ammeters, communication channels, and bring the disadvantage to the electrical charge system's integration, maintenance and upgrading. For solving the interoperation of power communication protocols, DLMS UA proposed a new communication protocol called DLMS /COSEM which world widely used and accepted as international standard by IEC and TC13 in recently years. The research in this area has just begun in China.The paper first studied the electrical communication technology, then pay more attention to the application of DLMS/COSEM electric meter communication standard protocol in the centralized meter reading system, and at last designed an new style of centralized meter reading system, which takes the WLAN as basal channel. The centralized meter reading system using "Client/Server" model and established the meter logical device, object interface model based on "Connect-Oriented" TCP Service, then, designed the function module and data frames of ammeter according to OBIS system, finally, realized the communication between PC station and meter server using DLMS/COSEM protocol. All of this established a necessary infrastructure for the further application of DLMS/COSEM electric meter communication standard protocol.
