Fuel cell (FC) is considered to be the best new substituted energy for traditional ones. Among all kinds of fuel cells, the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) develops most quickly because it suitable as the power of auto.The research and development of PEMFC need fuel cell test system (FCTS) as a capability-measuring tool. The demand of FCTS for PEMFC is increasing when the PEMFC develops quickly. To meet the demand, UESTC and electronic technology institution of guangdong province have developed a set of minitype FCTS for PEMFC. Because the condition of research is restricted, the functions of this equipment are still not perfect for PEMFC test. The equipment has two primary shortcomings. First , the size of the electronic load of FCTS is too lage. Second, the function of FCTS for capability-measuring is limited.In order to resovle the existing problems, some work has been done in this dissertation.Firstly,a new electronic load is designed. It has characteristics of low cost, high reliability and high flexibility. Based on the principle of electronic load, this dissertation expatiates the design of the electronic load circuit and the DSP controlling program.Secondly, in order to meet the PEMFC researcher's demands, some research, such as the testing method of fuel cell electromotive force, the way of testing the instantaneous transformation load and the method of how to draw a proper fuel cell performance graph,have done. And some feasible testing project have proposed.At present, the basic functions of the electronic load of FCTS have achieved. Applying the new methods introduced before to the FCTS will be the primary work in the next period.
