With the increasing demand for the motor control products in fields of industrial electric transmission, auto-control and household appliances, the market for technology of embedded control has enlarge. Customers expect more functions to be integrated in driving system so as to achieve more advanced performance. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is the desirable device to meet this requirement.Since DSP's entry of the field of motor control, it is prevalent to apply the high-performance DSP to meeting increasing amount of calculation and faster rate of motor control devices. A powerful and economical DSP for motor control was acquired by integrating a series of peripheral devices such as A/D, PWM and DSP kernel together.This thesis is to introduce the application of DSP for motor control in the field of motor control, with the case of TMS320F2812A.This system has a double closed loop feedback calculation, one of which is speed loop while the other current loop. It achieves a solution for the controlling excitation direct current motor by combining with the excitation control. With full use of the powerful control and calculation provided by TMS320F2812A DSP, this system is able to control two motors in the mean time. This thesis, which is of some special points, is based on the conventional method of controlling direct current motor's rotating speed and directions through controlling armature voltage, putting forward a method of controlling excitation voltage and rotating directions so as to reduce the speed. This system has high control power, wide range of control speed. Furthermore, with reference to the stability and timing, programs with operating system have been greatly improved, due to the benefit from DSP/BIOS supported by TMS320F2812A DSP, in terms of its system resource management, interruption control, multi-task schedule and support from variety of system resources.Chapter One introduces the related background information. Chapter Two states the theory of direct current motor. Chapter Three illustrates the hardware structures of embedded control system as well as its resources. Chapter Four demonstrates the program designing of the system while Chapter Five gives the experiments and their results.The program designing gives detailed explanation on how the DSP event manager generates PWM waveform, testing the rotating speed by using the QEP, collecting the signals by applying the A/D, achieving calculation by using the theory of speed-current double loop feedback control system, resource managing and multi-thread program designing by adopting the DSP/BIOS.
