A new type of marine propulsion-electric propulsion, the propelling power of which is provided by the electric power device, has already had extensive application in various ships because of so many advantages as high efficiency, low noise and flexible control etc.The electric propulsion plant in common use is composed of electric motor, driving power supply and propeller etc. According to different integral structure, installment form and speed regulation modes, electric propulsion plant can be classified into a variety of types, among which thruster electric propulsion device is in wide use now.While shipping, electric propulsion load is in a dynamic changing state, relating to, ship's state of motion and propulsion operation status.The study of electric propulsion load changing regulations could provide references to the choice of propulsion motor type and decision of ship's power plant capacity as well as to the operating management of electric propulsion system. Related software would also be written to carry out the simulation operation and management of electric propulsion system.This dissertation mainly includes three parts as follows:1. Introduced motion characteristics and propulsion modes of ships; Analyzed the propulsion drive and resistance besides turn torque and the resistant torque of ships motion, Gave corresponding mathematics model; Analyzed the operation and the control characteristics of marine electric propulsion.2. Analyzed electric propulsion load changing features in different operation states; Studied load changing process during system speedup, slowdown and shut down; Discussed braking problem while electric propulsion system slowdown and shut down.3. Based on the analyze of ship motion and the research of propulsion load changing features, gave simulation algorithm of procedure load control and automatic directional tracking control of electric propulsion system; Designed simulation software of marine electric propulsion simulation operation.
