In order to help the Luo-Wu Railway overpasses the Jing-Guang Railway, an extra-long span bridge is built. Since the bridge has been completed, foundation crack is occurred seriously. A preliminary analysis of the causes of the diseases has been conducted and some initial reinforcement measures have been taken accordingly. What's more, the diseases continue spreading and have endangered the safety of the whole bridge and the operation of the entire Luo-Wu Railway.Based on massive investigation of bridge diseases, design paper, and geological information available to the bridge, the theoretical analysis and field loading test has been done in the paper. Finally the reason for the spread of diseases is found and the reinforcement program is put forward. Major work:1. Investigation and statistics have been done in detail towards the diseases of the bridge;2. Design calculation recheck and geological prospecting have been done to the entire bridge according to the standards;3. The plane and spatial finite element is adopted to analyze the spatial stress of the sub-structure and to conduct the field loading test;4. Analyze and identify the reasons for the bridge cracking;5. Calculation and coMParison have been done in detail towards the reinforcement program.From what we have done above, the true reason for the bridge cracking have been found in the paper .The reinforcement program referred in the paper is feasible. Both the program and its conclusion have project significance and economic efficiency to the Luo-Wu Railway.
