Experts and scholars in China have made many meaningful researches to architectural color, but the current research range is limited only to digging characteristics, meaning and design principle of architectural color, sum-up to architectural color matching and its application rule is relatively few; considering the above situation, in the paper, the author has summarized the principle of color and drawn some color illustrations by applying some key elements and combining architectural examples in her own way, to express the view of author in a visualized style. The author wishes to utilize this method to discuss the secrete why architectural color can produce aesthetic feeling and to facilitate practical work of architects. The text is divided into four parts. Part one contains both chapter one and chapter two, the former of which emphasizes on introducing research background, purpose and meanings as well as theoretical basis related to the paper, while the latter mainly introduces methods and skills of color design for relative disciplines as well as their inspiration to modeling design of architectural color. The first part has established the foundation for further discussion and foreshadowed the following research. Part two contains chapter three, four and five, which introduces the effect of color on architectural modeling design and its way of existence, moreover, chapter three focuses on discussing characteristics and functions of color on architectural modeling, while chapter four sets forth the way of expression of color in architectural modeling and principles of aesthetics applied, chapter five analyzes design principle of color in architectural modeling. Part three is chapter six, in which research method of the author is introduced, and application principle of color in architectural modeling is summarized and concluded and relative illustrations are drawn based on the aforementioned two parts by combining architectural examples and taking brightness as the crucial elements, in order to express it in a visualized way. Part four is chapter seven, it is an analysis to examples of architectural color modeling, taking Chinese and foreign architectural examples apart by the color appraisal system concluded by author. Conclusion part has made a general summarization to the whole text, and has stated out some sentiments and tastes the author learned in research; it is the conclusion of the text.
