In recent years, along with the new material unceasing emergence, The honeycomb core material has received people's more and more focus, for its saving material, light weight, specific hardness, shockproof, heat-insulation, sound-insulated, moisture-proof, leak-proof and so on.The manufacture method usually has two: Stretch and forming, as the most represents, the serrated roller forming's corresponding formed craft and the formed theory all entered quite mature stage. but, this method could not meet the actual needs for the gear itself flaws, so do some research in its forming methods, forming equipment and forming theory has positive practical significance.This paper first deeply analyzed the questions and the flaws which the new material preparation and processing laboratory exist now, after finding the design itself unreasonable, we proposed use ambulacrum instead of serrated roller。because this kind of forming lies in a flexible forming system and it also makes forming and trueing process unified, this method enormous reduces forming flaw and greatly enhanced the working efficiency. after looking up massive books and literature, The author discovered that using the ambulacrum form honeycomb core material has not appeared until now. Therefore, the paper has made a lot of explorations and researches in the area.After researching the theory of elastoplasticity distortion theory as well as the thin steel plate curving theory, we analyzed the ambulacrum forming mechanism, with the aid of mechanical theory and the modern design method, we redesign the forming equipment. On the basis of UG NX2.0, this paper establishes the equipment's 3D solid model and does the important organization movement simulation after assembling them in it. At the same time, with the help of ETA Dynaform v5.2, the paper regeneration the main part of forming and gets the simulation result. Thus it may examines the design effect from the theory and the actual. find it flaw and provides a knid of new clue for the equipment optimization and the spare part improvement.Along with the research of continuous forming theory and the technology of CAD, CAE and CAM further development and perfection, we may foresee that the ambulacrum forming equipment will certainly have more extensive application prospect because of its outstanding merits.
