In the early days, tape recorder was used in the spacecraft for the storage of mass data. It was not until the end of 1980s that the main space countries began to adopt magnetic disk, magnetic-optic disk and solid state recorder. As the development of electronic technique, the density of semiconductor memory device was increased. It is widely approved that solid state recorder, with the DRAM and FLASH as its main storage medium, has become a dominating solution for the storage of mass data in the spacecraft. After thoroughly collecting and earnestly studying the latest information in this field, this thesis tries to find a solution for the problems above and designs a new kind of SSR with FLASH instead of previously used DRAM as its medium, according to the advanced experience and technologies from abroad. It has merits of high storage density, small dimension, low power consumption, low cost, non-volatility, endurance for shake and impulsion and wide-range temperature and so on. Aiming at the low speed of program operation and the invalid blocks of flash memory, Pipelining and parallel technology, accompanying with fast FIFO as cache memory, instead of direct program operation, are adopted in the scheme and increase the transmitting speed dramatically; FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is applied to realize the complex control logic of the system and makes it integrative, flexible and fast; Data with frame structure is applied to control channels switch of the multiplexers, and it realizes programmable control to the sampling rate though the computer software. At the same time, due to the incessant appearance of new technology, the standard to the design of SSR will be enhanced and the techniques are being renovated constantly.
