The current state and future development of improved-soil and super-wet soil are known by reading references, and the filling material's method of classification is summarized. By sampling on-site and laboratory experiment, the basic physical and mechanical properties of the filling material as "the connection between bridge and road engineering of jiajiasongshuidaqiao"are obtained.The mechanisms of strength formation and characters of cement-improved-soil , lime-improved-soil and lime-fly ash-improved-soil are explained. According to the chemistry equation that quicklime is entered into soil, the formula that quicklime improves super-wet soil is obtained and it is validated by water losing test.The regularities of improved soil's engineering characters, including liquid limit and plastic limit, compaction characteristics, unconfined compressive strength, modulus of resilience, CBR and the water stability, are studied by many tests in laboratory. Compared to cement-improved-soil, the relationship between engineering characters of lime-improved-soil and water content, content of quicklime, degree of compaction and time are analysed, and then their relationship curve and regularities are obtained.Method of compaction control and standard of compaction in our country are compared to that in America and in Japan. Besides, the disadvantages that degree of compaction controls compaction and the excellence that void ratio controls compaction are summarized. For lime-improved-soil studied in this paper, it is suggested that void ratio controls compaction of roadbed.
