A oilfield distribution management information system using component-based GIS isdeveloped in the paper according to the practical task. The system adopts relational database tomanage spatial data, which is convenient for intercurrent operation and safety control of spacialdata. The space searching can rapidly and effectively manage distribution data and has rightextension. The system integrates the technology such as data acquisition, graphic display and C/S,which are combined with electric power operation. Then the system has the function such asgraph management, distribution establishment management and distribution system analysis,which provides guarantee for safety production and improves working efficiency.The principle of GIS is introduced firstly, and the superiority of component-based GIS isdiscussed detailedly. Then, according to the production requirement, the system design and itsfunction are discussed detailedly also. The topology analysis of distribution line based on GIS isresearched to improve the analysis efficiency and accuracy of line. In addition, the spatial datum,sharing of multi-source spatial data are also discussed combining with the GIS platform. At last,the oilfield distribution management information system based on GIS is achieved and the systemfunction is introduced detailedly combining with practical application.
