At present, motor vehicles are so many that a space where a vehicle can be parked is very difficult to find in our country. Developing a parking management system will be one of the best ways to resolve the problem. Xiamen Heping dock was not managed by means of automation in the past time, which caused disordered management, low efficiency and quarrel with customer etc. So we point that we must introduce a parking management system to substitute for the previous system.Firstly, the article analyses the requirements of the clients, and then designs three passageways for Heping dock. No.1 has an entrance and an exit. No.2 is an exit and No.3 is an entrance. We configure some equipment including passageway controllers, sensors of vehicles, electric railings and Point of Sells. And the design of the equipment is also given in this paper.Then we give the processes of parking, which includes the process of entering parking ground and the process of exiting parking ground. We have some limit when vehicles enter or go out of the parking ground in order to improve management efficiency. At the same time, there are several flow charts in the article.At last, the theme analyzes the communication system of the parking management system. We decide to apply CAN bus after we compared CAN bus with RS-485 and introduce the character, structure and protocol of the system as well as the method of communicating. The communication system comprises three parts, which is the macro analysis of the system, the control net of the passageways and the control net of inner parking space.Compares with other parking management system, this system has more excellent electric railings and advanced technique of charging. It's configurations are very flexible. It can deal with discount of clients' expenses automatically. CAN-bus's excellent capability can reduce the expenses of building parking space by configuring more equipment to CAN bus if there are more vehicles to be parked in this parking space.
