Container Intermodal Inland Link Optimization

Multimodal container transport is a transport mode aiming at achieving benefit optimization of integrated goods transportation. It has become the leading means of transport in international logistics. Therefore, careful studies on system optimization of Chinese multimodal container transport are needed according to its current development.The thesis was designed to approach a win-win result of shipper and multimodal transport operator and to improve positive development of multimodal container transport through the means of optimizing inland freigt, reducing system generalized transport costs, increasing transport effiency and eliminating resourse waste.The thesis focuses on optimization of multimodal container transport by the means of analyzing model and giving examples. Dynamic multimodal container transport programming model of the minimum generalized transport costs is found on limiting trade time and related examples are given to verify and support the model analysis and its major conclusion.The thesis mainly focuses on optimization of multimodal container transport. It studies the means of optimization on transport routes and modes and carefully researches on inland freight by analysis on related transport examples. It includes the following aspects: the survey of multimodal container transport, the form of multimodal container transport and analysis on its characteristics, stating operational procedures of optimization on transport routes and modes by analysis on container transport examples, setting up systematic index system of multimodal container transport, judging optimization measures through modes found by fuzzy synthetic evaluation.The thesis contributes to the optimization of multimodal container transport, hoping that it will make a reference for the development of Chinese multimodal transport.
