Cooperated Optimising Of Railway Container Transport In Multi-Modal Transportation

Container multi-modal transport gives full play to the advantages of container transport, providing high quality and efficient systemic physical distribution service. It is the most advanced transport-organization mode also the advanced stage of transportation development. As a link of logistics chain and a subsystem of inter-modal transport chain, the development of railway container transport can not provide completely its advantages and fill the requirements of market economy because of lacking coordination with the multi-modal transport nor with the outer environment. The research on coordinated optimization measures of multi-modal transport of railway container transport will help to improve the organization and management level of Chinese railway container transport, and to realize railway container transport connecting with other transportation modes and other cooperative partners seamless, and to expand the market shares of railway container transport. On the base of knowing the current situation and the trend of container inter-modal transport at home and abroad, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of inter-modal transport of Chinese railway container transport, accordance with the existing problems, the paper puts forward some coordinated optimization countermeasures for inter-modal transport of railway container transport. The research contents are as follows: 1. Knowing the current situation and the trend of container inter-modal transport at home and abroad, exploring the existing situation of railway container transport, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese railway container transport in the development of multi-modal transport.2. Putting forward some coordinated optimization countermeasures for inter-modal transport of railway container transport. One of these measures is about the outer environment, such as accelerating inland economic development; establishing management and operation system in accordance with inter-modal transport system; the others is about its inner factor: perfecting the functions of container-handling stations; strengthening transport organization; increasing technology equipments; using double layer container transport; employing advanced management measures to increase service quality; improving information system, etc. Among these countermeasures, the paper will mainly research two problems:(1)About realizing railway container transport connection with other subsystems seamless in multi-modal transport, the paper proposes that container-handling stations should realize logistics centralization. The paper first analyzes the necessity and feasibility of centralizing logistics and explores the work flows of container-handling stations. Then, the paper discusses relative work flows of railway container-handling stations which have realized logistics centralization. Combining with multi-modal transport, the paper proposes the countermeasures of container-handling stations realizing logistics centralization.(2)About information system construction of railway container transport in inter-modal transport, the paper first analyzes the information network system of inter-modal transport, and has built railway container transport information management system on the base of EDI. At last, the paper discusses real-time tracking which is realized by using modern logistic technology and advanced data exchanging technology.
