Though aerial film is used abroad in the field of aerial photography, the impact of CCD on film record type is more and more strongly. Research of aerial film and its living space can improve the aero industry and the set of knowledge of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision.The resolution of 3.3μm, 7μm, 15μm CCD and aerial film is compared by the film - CCD resolution conversion, and the conclusion is that the resolution of 7μm CCD is half of type 1124 aerial film, 3.3μm CCD is not good as it.The information quantity of 3 K×3 K area array CCD, 9 K×9 K area array CCD and aerial film is compared by synthesis of resolution, sensitization capacity and spectral response of CCD and film, and the conclusion is that the information quantity of type 1124 aerial film is 60 times to 3 K×3 K area array CCD and 6.7 times to the other.The target identification capacity is compared by the calculation of ground resolution of aerial film and CCD in different flying height and lens focus, and the conclusion is that aerial film should be used beyond 10000 m height.The disadvantage of aerial film is its processing is found by analysis of aerial film and CCD. An aerial film process equipment (AK - 108φ) is designed (include of the film can, flume, driving system, dryness system and control system) base on the summary of former experience of aerial film process equipment.
