With the development of the high power electronics, especially the IGBT, and the advance of the computer technology, the high-power electronics device has been widely used in the high voltage condition based on its excellent performance. However, the technology of IGBT's drivers is a very sensitive point due to the need of a high reliability and a high degree of insulation to transmit driving information and the energy to the gate driver. A classical solution used by now for each IGBT is: a DC supply with a high insulation transformer for energy transmission and an optic fiber for the transmission of information. This solution is fast, reliable, and not sensitive to disturbances. However, in the case of high-power electronics device, which has complex circuit and needs numerous switches to drive, or in where hard to lay optic fiber, this solution becomes costly, bulky and limit. Thus, in this paper, a novel driving system that is a wireless solution coupled to an energy supply loop is proposed. Since there isn't any contact between the control and the converter, the propagation paths of EMI are greatly reduced with the distance between the power transistor and the low power drive. So, the power system will be the only one need to be insulated. The experiment results showed that the novel driving system could reduce the Electromagnetic Interferences (EMI), drive several IGBT at one time, moreover the drive circuit is simple, fast, reliable and inexpensive.
