Because of the particularity of construction environment and danger of construction, the increasing safety issue of demolition blasting attracts high attention of blasting circles. But the research on this issue is underway, lacking of proper method to estimate safety status of demolition blasting. Consequently, establishing a mathematic model of safety assessment adapting to demolition blasting is the main aim of this paper.Firstly, linking to characteristic of city demolition blasting, method of 4M1E is applied to analyze the disadvantageous factor influencing safety of demolition blasting, and to establishing assessment index system with hierarchy in the paper. The analytic hierarchy process, combination of quality analysis and quantity research, is applied to calculate weights of index system which reflect the importance degree each assessment index means to safety status of demolition blasting. But the factors concerned to safety assessment of city demolition blasting is complicated and random, and the relations between accident and these factors are fuzzy, so it is impossible to establish exact mathematic model. In order to deal with this problem, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is applied to establish an assessment model in this paper. The established model is used in actual projects; accordant results to true safety status are gotten finally.For the complexity of safety system of demolition blasting, and the advantage of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) in solving such uncertain problem, ANN is introduced in this paper. By the ANN toolbox of MATLAB, assessment model based on BP Neural Network is established, which can achieve variable weights and dynamic assessment which cannot be achieved by traditional methods. The model achieves perfect combine of knowledge and experience, reconstructed the experts' knowledge and experience.The research on safety assessment model of city demolition blasting in this paper introduced ANN into safety assessment, which is not only significant to actual using but also to the establishment of expert system of safety assessment of blasting.
