This paper focused on STS Harmonic Drive gear meshing theory and the designing method of it. Against the shortcomings such as: low carrying capacity of involutes harmonic drive, poor meshing quality ,flexural strength is not high and so on.So I designed this new Tooth drive agency, which can effectively overcome the above drawbacks.In the text, fully considering the processing problems of flexible wheel, trying to use standard double arc gear tooth as a flexible wheel basic tooth profile ,so can use standard double arc gear tool to process the flexible wheel gear, thereby reducing tool designing and manufacturing difficulties and reducing the costs.This text explored the method of using the basic tooth profile of the double arc gear as the harmonic drive gear meshing tooth, theoretically analysised its feasibility, and using the envelope method deduced the derived flexible wheel and just round the tooth profile equation. Meanwhile, through practical examples and using the least-squares method to fit the discrete points of flexible wheel and gear tooth profiles, proved flexible wheel and gear tooth profiles are just double arc tooth,because the error between fitting tooth profiles and theoretical tooth profiles is very small in theoretical calculations and , their tooth profiles are conjugative.According to the working conditions of flexible wheel, this paper also using the finite element method analyzed the stress of the cup-shaped flexible wheel, the finite element study of the flexible wheel is geometric nonlinear problem of thin shell. In the text using finite element analysis software ANSYS, established the flexible wheel meshing simulation model and the surface- surface contacting elements between the gear meshing and border contacting nodes. Then analyzed the flexible change of the wave generator and flexible wheel during working hours using finite element analysis, and got the stress distribution and displacement field of the flexible wheel .This thesis deeply studied STS Harmonic Drive gear meshing theory, and provided a theoretical basis for the realization of this new Harmonic Drive gear in project.
