The design process of Low-voltage apparatus is very complicated. It must calculate and research about the electric property and mechanical property to design a good performance, working security, low-cost low-voltage switchgear repeatedly. Even though, there are great differences between the design parameter and the actual capability. It needs experiment confirmation again and again. So the circle of developing products is long and the capital investment is great.Rocker switch belongs to one kind of Low-voltage apparatus. It is similar to them in design and research process, so the analysis and research has large realistic means. The contact force is mainly analyzed, do the FEA analysis and structural optimization based on three-dimensional model. Calculate the structural parameters how to impact on contact force.First of all, build the three-dimensional model using Pro-E and analyze the rocker switch by finite element method with HyperMesh and LS-DYNA, measure the actual contact force with the testing instrument. After compared to the two kinds of result data, it proves that the accuracy and the reliability of the calculation and the analysis with finite element method, and get the distribution how the changed key parameters impact on the contact force value and provide some constructive proposition on how to improve and stabilize the contact force. Then an orthogonal experiment is designed with spring length, rotation angle of button and sleeve length, as its three factors from which a conclusion can be made to ajust each key parameter to increase the contact force and find the optimum combination of design parameters to guide production.Next, from all the analysis methods--theory analysis, finite element method,testing, and orthogonal experiment we get the main factor affecting the contact force. We can supply the scientific evidence for analysis and design of Low-voltage apparatus. It is foundation for the good performance product design, and is importment to master the top technique and improve the competition for the corporation.
