With the rapid development of computer science and numerical analysis method, mathematical models of flow play an even more important role in the research of water flow and sediment movement, river bed deformation and project scheme because of convenience. The research of mathematical models was applied in the channel regulation of the Yangtze River, and obtained great improvement during the period of "Ten Five" and "Eleven Five" when large numbers of channel regulation projects were constructed to improve the navigation condition of the ChangJiang River. So it's necessary to establish and perfect the planar 2-D mathematical models and exert its advantage in order to have better applications in channel regulation of the ChangJiang River.This paper consists of six chapters aggregately, and the main content of every chapter is as follows:In the first chapter, the research actualities of planer 2-D flow mathematical model was expatiated, the main numerical calculation method, channel roughness and applications of mathematical models in channel regulation projects. And then, the study content of this article is presented combining with factual projects.In the second chapter, the Tuqiao channel river evolution, river evolution was studied. Also, the reason of river evolution had been analyzed.In the third chapter, the mechanism of orthogonal body-fitted mesh which is used in this paper aiming at the complex characters of natural channels was introduced. At the same time, the flow basic controlling equation under orthogonal coordinate is educed, the key technique is studied and the finite element method is used to obtain numerical solution.In the fourth chapter, the real Tuqiao water course hydrologic data was applied into verify the built model.In the fifth chapter, the mathematic model was introduced to Tuqiao channel, with the result of river evolution analysis of Tuqiao river course, the further understanding to the evolution law of the very river course was known, then through predicting the river course's evolution, we give the water channel regulation project accordingly, and do the calculation and studying analysis to the project regulation performance.In the sixth chapter, the text and the expectation of the work in the future were summarized.
