This paper is to design a Modulation Domain Analyzer. There are four testing channel in this analyzer, and users could choose AC-coupled or DC-coupled, its precision could reached to 10-9 at measuring frequency and to 10ps at measuring time interval. The analyzer is designed for mechanical. In many fields such as Precision Timing, Precision Time Service and delivery, navigation, wireless, laser range, photons physical experiments, Industries (integration circuit and dynamic test of Hard disk), telecom (high speed data transmission) and so on, it is necessary to control precision timing and precision time frequency and to measure precision parameters of time frequency, precision time interval and frequency stability.At the beginning, some classic methods in time interval measuring and transforming digital signals from time interval are introduced and then the accordingly technical approach has been put forward. The paper has been grouped into four parts as following: hardware design, FPGA design, DSP design and measurement display. Firstly, the paper shows the configuration of scheme and circuit design and analyzes the advantages of the circuit. Then, FPGA logic design and signal simulation is analyzed and emulated, which can show how to get the high precision time parameter. The following chapter makes a generally introduction of DSP program, holds some examples on communication with PC display program and FPGA. Then, by showing the function of PC interface software, the readers can know how to set up the parameter, also some measurement examples are given in this chapter.In the end, the paper summarizes and prospects the issues.
