Heart diseases often happen suddenly and are with high fatalness. In order to detect the illness in time, people need to conduct effective monitoring on the patients suffered from heart diseases. At present in domestic China, the most common way is to carry on real-time electrocardiogram monitoring on patients in hospital, which not only is too expensive for ordinary patients to afford, but also restricts their area of activities.This paper proposes a scheme for carrying on the remote electrocardiogram monitoring on the basis of research on the electrocardiogram monitoring both at home and abroad. It is based on the embedded technology combined with gpsOne technology, conducting the monitoring together with positioning and tracking on patients, sending the unusual signal and position information to the monitoring center through CDMA networks. It saves precious time for rescuing patients.This paper introduces the relating techniques of electrocardiogram monitoring terminal and its general design scheme and also gives a detailed introduction on the design of hardware and software of the monitoring terminal. The hardware adopts LPC2136 of ARM7 series as the embedded MCU, expanding with electrocardio signal collecting circuit, changeable lead-connecting circuit and data storage circuit, combining with gpsOne positioning and telecommunication module. When the monitoring terminal works, it collects the electrocardio signal and analyzes the heart rate. If unusual heart rate is defined, the system will position the signal and send the information and data to the monitoring center of hospital through CDMA networks. At the same time, the data are stored for the real-time monitoring on patients.This paper finally describes the debugging and testing on the capability of the monitoring terminal. The monitoring terminal can collect the electrocardio signal of different leads exactly and carry on the digital filtering and identify the QRS complex wave effectively, meeting the expected requirements.
