The increasing rapidly of traffic quantity raise higher demand about the transit capacity of the old bridges. So it is more impendent to confirm practice status and supporting load of these bridges. Therefore, how to perform quality detection, evaluation and reinforce of bridges has become a research hotshot of foreign academia and domain of engineering. The paper investigatestechnique of strengthening bridges.The form and reason which cause the bearing capacity in the bridge to reduce are analyzed, and the status of technique of strengthening bridges are dissertated.After recognizing the importance of chech and evaluation of bridges performance, the method and procedure of chech of bridges performance, and evaluation index of it, are studied.Expounding principle and approach of strengthening bridges, it is explored particularly that Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic(CFRP) , spray concrete , external prestressed.By three cases of strengthening bridges, the characteristics and confines of strengthening bridges with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic(CFRP) , spray concrete , external prestressed, are compared.Performance testing to a concrete bridge in Jiangsu Changzhou are completed, and scheme of treating is proposed.
