Due to the vast territory, the complexity of the geological conditions, the high occurrence frequency of natural disasters and the railroad with a long track line, a multitude of construction points and a extensive coverage of our country, the geological disasters has become one of the important factors which influence the safety of railway's operation, especially jeopardize the public benefits of society and restraint the development of national economy.In view of the seriousness of the disaster and the importance of protection for the safety of railway, and the existence of a series of problems in current status of disaster prevention and control, research about the engineering technology of prevention and control of geological disasters along railway and theory and methods of analysis of economic benefit of protection engineering is carried on, based on theory and methods of disaster assessment of the economic, by combining to the project of Risk assessment and Countermeasures study of geological disasters along existing railway lines.Some research methods are ured in this article such as on-site survey and date collecting and also theory analysising, and the related results are listed as follows:1.The cost of investment and economic benefits of protection engineering for geological disasters along railway are defined and confirmed, and the analysis system is built in the article.2. Accounting models of lost of historical destruction and the future are constructed, by improving conventional methods of the original.3. Accounting methods of investment and economic benefits of protection engineering are constructed, by looking on the investment of protection engineering as a random process.4. Multi-objective decision-making method is used in Optimization of Protecting programs to provide reference and a basis for practice and decision-making of protection engineering.5. The specific circumstances of prevention and control of Zhuo-fu debris flow is analysised, with using the models built in the article to account the investment and benefit of protection engineering, and the feasibility of the methods is examinated preliminary by analysising the result in-depth.
