The safety is an important guarantee about the quality of railway transportation. The electrical system is the core device of the electric locomotive, in which the fault will affect the normal operation of electric locomotive. It is significant to make sure that the electrical system works normally for the safe operation of electric locomotive. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the fault diagnosis system of 8G electric locomotive.Regarding the electrical system of 8G electric locomotive as object of study, the thesis analyses the main functions characteristics and the relationship of the main circuit, auxiliary circuit and control circuit, researches into the failure characteristics of the electrical system, lays the foundation for the design of fault diagnosis system.In the light of the complexity of electrical system, the concurrent of the fault and the diversity of diagnostic methods, taking advantages of distribution, collaboration and parallelism of MAS, introducing multi-agent technology to the fault diagnosis system of locomotive, the 8G electric locomotive electrical system fault diagnosis model which is based on MAS is established. The various subsystems and the functions structure of the agent are constructed. System uses a multi-level mixed-strategy to decompose the task, modified contract net allocation rules to allocate the tasks, the combination of multi-agent to collaborate fault diagnosis, decision-making methods to determine the final diagnosis.Based on the overall structure of the system, the thesis introduces system's hardware platform and software architecture, and describes detailed the hardware principles of data acquisition subsystems and the software implements of agent, achieves the fault diagnosis functions of the electrical system of locomotive. And an example is given to illustrate the specific diagnosis process.The proposed fault diagnosis system based on multi-agent has already been tested in the 8G Locomotive of Taiyuan Railway Administration Taiyuan North locomotive depot, and gained much praise by users. Practical application proves that the system in the protection of the safe operation of trains is entirely feasible and effective.
