Power scheduling has become more important with the expansion of power system. Regional automation of power scheduling system has a higher level. It has reduced the heavy boring job of the operation staff. At the same time, a great deal of information will flow into the system when the fault of power system occuors, it is difficult for the operation staff to recognize the information and to process the faults. The engineers of power system also need to analyze large amounts of data for the operation of power system. It has given automation of power systems challenges to display large amounts of data in a system that contains thousands of bus, and it also has given automation of power systems challenges to make the user to get a grip on the status of power system and to estimate the status of power system by his intuition. To display data with a suitable form is more important especially in the analysis software of power grids.Visualization is an important research consideration of computer graphics, it is a new field of computer graphics. Visualization means to display large amounts of data produced by scientific calculation or engineering calculation by using images or graphics under the method of computer graphics. Visualization of power system means to display data use a lively graphic is the same as to display data use a lot of figures. This article has studied the applications of visualization in dispatch automation of power system in depth based on the basic theory of visualization, interpolation, drawing in computer graphic. The applications include 2D applications and 3D applications. The 2D applications include: dynamic power flow, contour, single pie, inverse time limit curve. The 3D applications include: single bar graph and 3D.graph.
