With the development of economy and society, electricity users are more and more concerned for the power supply, therefore , it is an inevitable trend to popularize the distribution automation system . Rapid and accurate fault location is the basic premise for isolating the faulty section and restoring the service in the un-faulted region, which is the key technology of the distribution system automation.The problems exiting in current fault location algorithm for distribution networks are analyzed in the paper. Base on the current communication channel, we simplify the distribution networks to zone matrix model to increase the reliability and the economy of the algorithm, and put forward a fast fault section location algorithm base on this model. The algorithm first makes use of some node fault information to distinguish the fault section, and then, with the information of the protection, fault indicator and the information about other nodes to locate the fault section exactly.This algorithm can simplify the calculational process greatly and enhance the real time capability of the fault section location algorithm and need less FTU. The effectiveness and accuracy of the algorithm are verified by the result of the practical example and it is reasonable and effective in its application in engineering. |
