In high-rising buildings, sections of columns in bottom floors are usually big which is due to the axial-compression-ration limitation, and it is always to form short columns with poor earthquake resistance performance. As we all know, steel reinforced concrete (SRC) structure has the advantages of high bearing capacity, large Stiffness and good seismic performance. So, it can be used in bottom floors in high-rising buildings for improve the poor earthquake resistance performance and induce the large section of reinforced concrete (RC). But the upper floors still adopt reinforced concrete columns; therefore the SRC-RC vertical hybrid structures are shaped.As a new type of structure, SRC-RC vertical hybrid structures are using in more and more high- rising buildings at abroad, especially in Japan, and they have been considerable research depth. In our country, SRC-RC vertical hybrid structures are also using in engineering, but research has not yet commenced , just people just use the research results from abroad which can not meet the domestic needs of engineering applications.The transition story of the transfer from SRC columns to RC columns is the key position of SRC-RC vertical hybrid structures. Its loading capacity and rigidity is easy to mutate and weakness floors may be engendered by improper design, so it could destroy seriously and make the whole structure destroy under earthquake. SRC-RC transfer column is the key component of the SRC-RC vertical hybrid structures. Its mechanical behavior has an important impact on mechanical behavior of transition story and SRC-RC vertical hybrid structures. So, the experiments and theoretical research on seismic performance of SRC-RC transfer column has stronger significance in engineering practice.The seismic performance of SRC-RC transfer column with different constructional measure has been researched in this paper. The constructional measure consist of stirrup densification along column height, just stirrup densification of truncated department, and on the base of stirrup densification of truncated department increase additional bar or screw bolt or X-bar. The main failure patterns, hysteretic curves, skeleton curves ,energy dissipation ,strength degeneration and ductile of such members are obtained by test of 1 reinforced concrete column and 7 SRC-RC transfer columns with different constructional measure under low cyclic reversed loading in this paper. The influence of each of the different constructional measure on seismic behavior of SRC-RC transfer columns is discussed by test results. This work is helpful to confirm reasonable constructional measure. Finally, on the base of test results, the restoring force model of SRC-RC columns is put forward and it can provide for seismic research.
