Two-phase Four-phase Study Of The Technical Evaluation Of The Urban Road Network And Applications

Currently,the traffic jam and traffic accidents have been becoming a heavy illness in all of the world which has restrict the economy to develop:the contradictions between traffic volume and capacity of urban roads grow day by day,and the speed of vehicles in urban is more and more low.How to reconstructs and extends existing road network system synthetically is one way to alleviate traffic pressure and realize sustainable development of our urban transportation system.The integral strategy of traffic development is based on the scientific and systematic assessment of the road network system. whether a local road system is good not only depended on the rational network topology structure,but also on the perfect management system. So it is necessary to establish a technical assessment method that can involve in both aspects.For these,this thesis puts emphasis on the following tasks:1) Based on the reliability theory,a method on road-network technical assessment which named Two-phases-four-stages Technical Assessment Method has been proposed. The technical assessment method includes two phases,the road-network phase and the traffic phase.The road-network phase is further divided into two stages, the network topology satge and the network structure stage, which emphase on the projects evaluation and decision of the topological planning and the structural design of the road system;the traffic phase is divided into traffic planning stage and traffic management stage, which emphase on the projects evaluation and decision of the planning and the management of the traffic system.2) It is studied in detail that the method of assessment of the unit reliability in the road-network phase and the transport phase.And its reasonableness is proved by means of the example analysis.3) Through the applications of two-phases-four-stages technical assessment method in a region of Zhengzhou city,qualitative and quantitative assessment is done to locate the bottleneck unit, the road segments and or the crosses, of the road network at four different stages. Comparing with the practical situation of the area, it is validated the rationality of the suggested method. And some constructive suggestions have been proposed for the planning, reconstructing and extending of the local road network of Zhengzhou city.
